UNICEF has been in Brazil since 1950, working on the ground alongside public-sector partners to ensure that every child and adolescent can go to school and learn, grow up healthy, be protected from violence, live on a sustainable planet with access to water, sanitation, and hygiene, and benefit from strong public policies.

UNICEF’s new mascot, “Unicefito,” is the protagonist of the campaign Invisible Friend — developed to highlight the quiet yet essential work UNICEF carries out in Brazil, impacting the lives of millions of girls and boys.
